The Original Series wasn’t even in the general VICINITY of fucking around yo
Ungggh, this is so good. Bless you, Rebecca Traister. <3
I wish it were different. I wish that every woman whose actions and worth are parsed and restricted, congratulated and condemned in this country might just once get to wheel around—on the committee that doesn’t believe their medically corroborated story of assault, or on the protesters who tell them that termination is a sin they will regret, or on the boss who tells them he doesn’t believe in their sexual choices, or on the mid-fifties man who congratulates them, or himself, on finding them appealing deep into their dotage—and go black in the eyes and say, “I don’t fucking care if you like it.”
I don’t think that people generally realise what motion picture industry has done to the American Indian, as a matter of fact, all ethnic groups, all minorities, all non-whites. And people just simply don’t realise, just take it for granted that that’s the way people are going to be presented and these clichés are just, I mean on this network every night, well perhaps not every night, but you can see silly renditions of human behaviour, the leering Filipino houseboy, the wily Japanese, the kook or the gook, black man, stupid Indian. It just goes on and on and on. And people actually don’t realise how deeply people are injured by seeing themselves represented, not so much the adults, who are already inured to that kind of pain and pressure, but children. Indian children seeing Indians represented as savage, as ugly, as nasty, vicious, treacherous, drunken. They grow up only with a negative image of themselves and it lasts a lifetime.
Marlon Brando on why Sacheen Littlefeather presented a speech on his behalf during his Best Actor win for The Godfather at the 1973 Academy Awards
Kind of like all of the women represented in film, etc. Except… Race first, gender second, if history and present have anything to say about it. People always like to play favourites ;) . Not undermining the above, but simply pointing out that race is not only commonly addressed, but the majority get behind eradicating it faster than sexism.
British company Surrey NanoSystems has developed Vantablack, a material that absorbs all but 0.035% of visual light. It is so dark that the human eye is incapable of seeing it accurately, making contours and folds in the material imperceptible. According to the firm’s CTO Ben Jensen, “You expect to see the hills and all you can see … it’s like black, like a hole, like there’s nothing there. It just looks so strange.”
cool, the material for disaster area’s ship

Sailor Jupiter, The Fighter
Out of the five inner senshi, Sailor Jupiter should be the one on the front line. As her strength and attack power comes from her own ability and not any specific weapon this would mean her HP or at least defense should be decently high as well, therefore making her a good mix between tank and power house. But this is just what I reckon :)
I kinda skipped Mars’ explanation but hers was mainly based off her awesome bow and arrow attack.
Can you tell what I’ve been playing from that humongous shoulder plate (thing?) :P.
The man in the middle is Yanis Marshall. He is basically the most amazing dancer/choreographer and he is very popular in France (his home country). Sometimes he wears heels when he dances, which has become his trademark.
He’s getting better known all over the world, and he and two of his dancers Arnaud Boursain and Mehdi Mamine recently made it into the final of Britain’s Got Talent.
Seriously have a watch of his routines. He’s just so inspired. (I personally thought his act should have won BGT).
He gets a lot of hate because apparently people are still obsessed with that old gender roles thing, and get upset that he wears heels when he dances.
You guys would like him a lot.
This guy slays me on a constant basis. Anyone who can dance that well in heels, has my utmost respect. Then again, anyone who dances well, in my opinion, gets my utmost respect anyway.let’s learn this.mizzjadewould like this!
